Robert Johnston

Robert is a recent honours graduate from the Wabanaki Visual Arts program at NBCCD. An emerging Indigenous Artist hailing from Nunatsiavut Labrador.
His focus is on wood sculpture and Indigenous land based arts.
He has been working as the Studio Technician for WVA since graduating.

“Stone sculpture is a natural progression for me and a long time ambition. Though wood is my primary medium, I grew up idolizing Inuit stone sculptors in Labrador.
I am looking forward to working as an Intern under talented stone Sculptors from around the world, learning to work with stone on a larger scale than I am used to”
