Fetiye was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey. In 1992, she completed her studies in at the Mirmar Sinan University. Fetiye moved to France in 2001, establishing her gallery behind the mountains and vineyards, right next to the sea. She has participated in several international sculpture symposia including Sculpture Saint John 2014.
2014 Symposium
I believe it is the intimate relationship I have with our natural surroundings that people feel and see in my art. Much in the way that a diversity of camera lenses is able to preserve ranges of perspective and finite details in photography, my mind’s eye encapsulates the deeply emotional connection I feel with the environment. In nature, fleeting alterations in light and shadow permit only momentary observations; however, my beholding eye attempts to capture her true essence. From the natural world, I receive inspiration and passion and do my best to reciprocate through my creations.
