Meghan Barton holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a focus on Sculpture, Photography and Print Making from Mount Allison University and a Bachelor of Education with a focus on Visual Art and History Instruction from the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton. She has participated in many group exhibitions across Canada and has had three solo exhibitions.
Like the artists involved in the Sculpture Saint John 2012 symposium, I too am fascinated by the history of stone and the reliance our culture has on it. I am a board member for Third Space Gallery, where I continue to help ensure artistic culture is celebrated and nurtured here in Saint John. Working creatively with Asano, Boyd, Gogaberishvili, Kley, Petrova and Sultov would be an invaluable opportunity for me, and in turn our community, as I will undoubtedly share and celebrate the knowledge and skills acquired during this internship with the many children I work with and the community at large.
